About Us

Danielle Ciccone and Michele Topel first connected in July 2024 on the online forum called Big Tent Ketamine. Before meeting each other, they were independently practicing EMDR therapy and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, and working with their clients to determine the best way to combine the two modalities. They came to realize they had similar ideas about how to do this effectively, and began to collaborate on a research project studying the impact of combining EMDR therapy with low dose ketamine on clients with PTSD. They were both fascinated and highly motivated by the results. Their connection was immediate, grounded in a shared passion for trauma healing and a deep curiosity about the science behind transformative, innovative therapeutic approaches.

Out of this synergy, they co-founded the Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™ Institute—an innovative training and research organization dedicated to advancing trauma treatment through the integration of EMDR therapy and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Their work is informed by extensive clinical experience, rigorous training with leaders in the field, and a shared commitment to healing and scientific inquiry. Together, they've developed cutting-edge training and co-authored pioneering research.

Danielle and Michele believe the strength of their collaboration reflects the therapeutic power of this integrative approach: complementary, transformative, and greater than the sum of its parts - and perhaps, guided by something just beyond explanation.
